The Directorate General for Roads has recently promoted a project to improve road safety on a stretch of road in Cartagena (Murcia), where 10 ROMI solar streetlights, developed by EKIONA Iluminaci\u00f3n Solar, have been installed.<\/p>

This initiative is part of a strategy aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO\u2082 emissions associated with public lighting through sustainable technological solutions that do not require connection to the electricity grid.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

1. Solar energy for safer roads<\/h2>

EKIONA’s ROMI solar streetlights operate completely autonomously, thanks to an integrated system comprising a photovoltaic panel, lithium battery and high-efficiency LED lighting.<\/p>

Each unit is capable of generating and storing its own energy during the day to provide continuous and stable lighting at night, even during periods of cloud cover or low solar radiation.<\/p>

In addition, the design of these lights is optimised to provide uniform light distribution, improving visibility and driving safety without generating light pollution.<\/p>

One of the most significant advantages of autonomous solar lighting is that it completely eliminates the need for wiring or ducting, reducing both civil engineering costs and the associated environmental impact.<\/p>

This type of installation allows for rapid deployment, without interfering with traffic and without the need for electrical connections, making it an ideal alternative for interurban areas or newly constructed sections.<\/p>

From an environmental point of view, each ROMI solar street light prevents the emission of a large amount of CO\u2082 per year, contributing directly to the decarbonisation and energy efficiency objectives promoted by public administrations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
